A newly formed group in South Africa, calling itself Progressive Forces for South Africa, has announced it will hold a high-stakes press briefing to reveal what it calls “shocking details” about the late former Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu—including information about his time and death in South Africa, and the alleged diplomatic fallout surrounding it.


According to official documents, the group was registered last week Monday in South Africa by a Zambian citizen. Its stated purpose is to expose Edgar Lungu and what they claim has been hidden from the public.


In a media statement issued Sunday evening, the group said:


> “We invite you to a high-stakes media briefing that will reveal shocking details about the late Zambian President Edgar Lungu's time and death in South Africa—and the explosive diplomatic fallout now unfolding.”




The group has not yet disclosed the venue or time of the media briefing, but sources close to the organisers say it is scheduled for Tuesday in Pretoria.


This development comes amid a heated legal and political battle between the Lungu family and the Zambian government over the late president’s burial and legacy.
